WICOMB WEDDING IN THE EASTERN CAPE

The wonderful biblical institution of marriage was witnessed by family and friends of Judy Wicomb and Eyob Yoseph on the 18 August 2007. Judy, daughter of Daniel and Phyllis Wicomb, married her Ethiopian-born husband in the Gelvandale Baptist Church in Port Elizabeth. The occasion was a mini-reunion of its own, with those close to the couple travelling from near and far.

The day dawned with perfect weather prevailing throughout the day (no sign of the notorious PE wind!). This enabled the festivities after the church service to continue at the parklike venue in Kragga Kamma to proceed smoothly. Snacks were served for the guests as they mingled about in the beautiful manicured gardens during the official photoshoot.

One of the highlights of the reception that evening (apart from the grooms speech) was a cultural wedding song and dance by relatives and friends of the groom. Everyone was so enthralled by the activity with most guests joining in the celebratory dance. The blending and accepting of the races and culture as experienced at the event goes a long way in preserving peace and harmony in the home, community and the world.

Congratulations Judy and Eyob! May you be blessed with a future filled with love and happiness forever.
